LSU's Odell Beckham Having a Breakout Season

For the last couple of seasons LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham has been a solid contributor for the Tigers with 84 catches for 1188 yards and four touchdowns (plus two more on kick returns). He's been a good, valuable player for the team, but not a vital piece of the puzzle.

That is, until this season!

The past two seasons Beckham has had four games with five or more catches and just two with 100+ yards. So far this season he has two 100+ yard games (118 and 136). Against UAB Saturday he nearly matched his career TD mark (of 4) with three (29, 22, and 27 yards).

That's not all he's done. It was his 75-yard kick return that helped ice TCU last week. This week the game was already iced, but since UAB was willing to take a chance on a 59-yard field goal when they were already down by 32 he had no choice but to put on a little show.

And take the missed field goal 109 yards to pay dirt!

Skeptics might try to say that neither TCU or UAB were serious competition; they'll say the same about Kent State and Auburn as well, but in Week 5 when the Tigers face off against Georgia they'll never every bit of the play-making ability he appears to have.
