Should Texas A&M's Mike Evans be in Heisman Discussions?

When people think Texas A&M and the Heisman trophy they think of obviously Johnny Manziel, but there is another player that is also deserving

College football has a lot of position oriented awards. Deciding who should be in contention for them is easy. If you play the position, than you have a shot. Of course you have to be among the best at the position to be a candidate, but when you just have to look at kickers for the Lou Groza it’s not hard to decide who is worthy.

That is far from the case with the Heisman Trophy. It goes to ‘the most outstanding player in college football.’ Sometimes it can be hard to figure out who deserves to be in contention,, but sometimes it is not.

How do you pick one player and call him the best out of so many?

When Johnny Manziel won last season it was not a big surprise. The fact that he is contention this season is not a surprise either. What is a little surprising to some is that one of his teammates is not being considered more than he is—wide receiver Mike Evans....
