49ers Fans Spending Over $7000 to Troll Seahawks Fans

Social media is great. It has taken so many things and added a new element to them. Fans can actually make a personal connection with their heroes. Long lost friends can get back in touch after years of being apart. Fans can take trash talk to a whole new--and inexpensive level.

For many that would be enough. Tweeting silly pictures or just making stupid comments would be all they'd need--but not for Seattle Seahawks and San Franciso 49ers fans.

During Week 14 when the Seahawks visited San Francisco some of the Seattle fans pooled their money and hired a plane to fly over the game pulling a Seahawks banner. Last I heard the whole thing cost around $1800. That's close to two grand just to troll fans at a game that happened to look up and away from the game.

Money well spent, right? It looks like some 49ers fans are going to take it a step further--with this billboard:

The billboard (to be displayed around a mile from Seattle's field) is bragging about the five Super Bowl trophies the 49ers have won relative to the zero Seattle has. Burn (not really).

It's a nice picture and all, but you have to really look to see the 49ers uniform in the background. Folks driving by will probably not even see him. Even if they do plenty of folks will not catch on anyway (those not familiar with NFL history).

Cool picture; bad execution. Here's the best part--it cost a good $7000! To make it even better, the project has raised over $8000!

The 49ers fans are doing one thing right. Any excuse funds over the cost of the project are to be donated to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
