Are the San Antonio Spurs missing ‘Star Power’?

The Spurs are slumping against the best teams in the league, is it because their lacking a true superstar?

The San Antonio Spurs have one of the best “team” offenses in the league, but is that good enough for them to beat the top teams in the game? Most of the Spurs’ five losses have come against potential playoff teams, like the Clippers, Trailblazers, and Thunder. These teams are packed with individual star power, something the Spurs have been lacking so far this season.

No player on the entire Spur squad is averaging more than 18 points per game; no player is stepping up as a clear-cut star. Tony Parker had two MVP-like seasons before but he seems to be on cruise control, delegating the role. Some nights the star has been Tim Duncan or Manu Ginobili, but most times it has been a group effort. Either way the Spurs need scoring consistency from someone, so they can beat the best teams.
