Oklahoma Sooners Give Baylor and Texas an Early Christmas Present

The Sooners couldn't win the Big 12 with a win over their in-state rivals, but they could certainly mess them up. Ask anyone that has played football or just loves to watch it a lot and they'll tell you that the next best thing to winning the championship is keeping your rival from winning it.

Which is exactly what the Sooners did.

Neither team could take control of the game through the first three quarters with the Sooners having trouble fielding a healthy quarterback and Clint Chelf having a rough day for the Cowboys. Oklahoma did not get their first lead till late in the fourth quarter, but thanks to their defense and special teams the game was always within reach.

Then came the fourth quarter.

A late drive that just looked way too easy gave the Cowboys a late 24-20 lead, but they made one mistake--they left too much time on the clock. With less than two minutes in the game the Sooners showed that you can never count a good team out.

So with just 24 ticks left on the clock Blake Bell passed to Jalen Saunders for the go-ahead touchdown!

So Merry Christmas to either the Texas Longhorns or Baylor Bears on your conference championship from the Oklahoma Sooners!
