There is just something about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson that says "when I talk, people listen." When he speaks he makes people want to say "yes, I smell what you're cooking, and yes--it does matter." He has that kind of presence; that kind of persona.
That's why he's the People's Champ, and that's why when he tweeted a message for South Carolina defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney you don't even have to ask--because he knows Clowney's listening.
The words were simple, but straightforward and to the point:
Jadeveon Clowney caught speedin' at 110mph. I know what that's like, but you got a bright future in the NFL. Trust me.. slow down brotha.

The Rock is referring to reports that Clowney as busted driving 110 MPH in a 70. Coming on the tail of reports that his parents and an entourage are going to be issues for whoever drafts him, and that he plays when he feels like it--and not all the time like a star player should--this is not good.
I don't know how you could not listen to The Rock, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if Clowney does. At the least maybe Clowney could join The Rock in enjoying The Rock's second greatest joy--
Pie.
THANK U @WWE Universe! Entertaining you is my greatest joy (2nd to pie;). #SlammyAwards #RockConcert pic.twitter.com/uPsa4JLL5f

Tajh Boyd was caught for speeding on the interstate also. Where's the pub on this? It's amazing how the know it all press can ruin a guy's draft status and know nothing about how he performed all year. They did this to Alshon Jeffrey also.
ReplyDeleteI think you might be reading a little too much into this man. If speeding is the most of his crimes I doubt any NFL GM that wants to keep his job will care. The only reason he will not go No. 1 is Houston has other needs that are greater than DL.
DeleteClowney is a beast. He's a little young and needs to grow up still, but what kid his age doesn't.
I can't speak for other pieces, but in mine I just thought it was neat The Rock tweeted about it. Who knows--maybe Clowney and The Rock can bond over pie.
