Houston Astros are Primed and Ready to Climb Out of the Cellar

It’s been rough for fans of the Houston Astros the last few years, but loyal fans need not worry—there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Cheering for the Houston Astros has been a lesson in humility the last three seasons. For three consecutive years the team has set a franchise record for futility winning just 56, 55 and 51 games. In that time the team has only won 90 games at home. Last season there were 11 teams that 90 or more game.

Since the club traded or released most of the talent the last few years there is not much reason to think the team will keep from redefining what the cellar is. However, loyal fans that have stuck through thick and thin may actually be rewarded this season.

Yes, sports fans. The Houston Astros could very well make a comeback this year. They might even be >gasp< good.

“We can definitely see the light,” Astros manager Bo Porter said Monday (via the Houston Chronicle). “I think that as an organization we had to go through what we went through last year in order to move in a direction in which we’re moving to put together a consistent championship caliber team.”....
