If Seattle Wins This Sunday So Does Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel zinged the Seahawks recently on Instagram, but what he should do is hope that Russell Wilson leads the Seahawks to Super Bowl glory--because if Wilson and the Seahawks win so will he.


It seems a little ironic, but should the Pacific Northwest version of the 12th Man win Super Bowl XLVIII the original 12th Man in College Station, Texas, is going to be very happy. Why? It’s not because Texas A&M will get any more money from the Seahawks for use of the ‘12th Man’ moniker.

No, it is because the original 12th Man is going to see its favorite son—quarterback Johnny Manziel—go higher in the draft because of it.

The stereotypical quarterback is a tall player (6’3” or taller) that can see over his offensive line and scan the field at ease before throwing the ball down field. Wilson is only 5’11” and Manziel is listed at 6’1”. There have been other ‘short’ quarterbacks though’ successful ones.

Size—or lack thereof--is not what makes a Seattle win so valuable to Manziel. It’s the validation that his style of play can not only succeed in the NFL, but win championships as well....
