Notre Dame's Eric Atkins Comes Through in the Clutch for the Fighting Irish

At this point in the season every game is important for a team on the bubble like the Fighting Irish. After a poor start to conference play (2-6) they really needed to notch a win against Boston College Saturday. So when senior guard--and captain--Eric Atkins went to the line with less than a second on the clock it appeared as if victory was well in hand.

A close game remained close in overtime. It was Atkins once again that had a chance to win the game late. With the game tied at 73-73 and the final seconds of the period ticking away he nailed his second three of the game to give the Irish the victory.

Notre Dame will have its hands full in its next game. They travel to upstate New York to face off against No. 2 Syracuse on February 3.
