Syracuse Hoping to Set Two Records Against Duke; Get Show of Support From Vice President Joe Biden

For a good college basketball program like Syracuse playing a team like Duke is a pretty big deal. No matter what their record is you know Coach K is going to have a solid team taking the court. Beat them and you not only take down one of the better teams in the nation, but you show the rest of the college basketball loving world that you are to be reckoned with.

However, when the Orange take on the Blue Devils Saturday they will be looking to accomplish a whole lot more. They are looking to beat a couple records as well.

When Syracuse beat Wake Forest 67-57 Wednesday night the Orange tied the programs previous best start in school history at 20-0. With a win over Duke the team can set a new record. It's not going to be easy of course. The Blue Devils are No. 17 in the nation with a record of 17-4 with two of their losses coming against top five teams.

So with so much on the line is Coach Jim Boeheim approaching it any differently?

"I've coached 1,000 games. That's too many games to get excited about one game," said Boeheim. "It's a 31-game regular season and every game is important, every game counts the same, and you have to approach it that way."

He may not be getting pumped up for the game (publicly at least), but that does not mean the school can't. There are some that expect the school's single game attendance record to be broken. One entrepreneur has even started selling t-shirts predicting what the final number will be.

@acpegler
For his sake hopefully he's right. Otherwise, man--that would suck.
