Jameis Winston Involved in Bench Clearing Brawl--or Did the Internet Get Ahead of Itself?

Future Heisman winners need to take a page out of Jameis Winston's playbook. The best way to keep yourself from doing or saying anything that the haters and media can exploit is to stay busy. In his case it's baseball.

Of course the caveat to that is you better not do anything they can latch on to in whatever your other activity is--like get involved in a fight during a game.

According to early reports online that is exactly what Winston did during a game against Florida Tuesday night. However, as the smoke cleared--and it was all smoke--the truth eventually came out.
Not only did Winston not throw any punches, but it doesn't look like any punches were thrown at all.

Another case of no harm no foul.

It's also another case of what life is going to be like for Winston. People are always going to be looking for you to slip up, and will be quick to assume that you did. When that news hits the internet it will have a longer life than the truth.

It's more interesting.

That being said if he had been involved in something it would have been the right thing to do. A teammate has another teammate's back no matter what, and in this case he did. Yeah, there could be consequences later, but they would have been worth it.
