Eastern Kentucky's Marcus Lewis Puts on a Show at College Dunk Contest

Most of the basketball loving world probably didn't know who Eastern Kentucky's Marcus Lewis was prior to Thursday night's college dunk contest. However, after the show he put on to take the dunk crown I think it is safe to say he will not be an unknown entity for long!

He wasn't perfect of course, and some of his dunks were a lot like the ones the NBA guys throw down--so nothing special. That being said he also threw down some that I can't recall seeing the NBA guys do.

Maybe they have--I'm not a dunk contest historian--but the kid put on an awesome show. Check out the contest winner:

Some of the NBA stars have said the dunk contest is getting old; that there is nothing new to do anymore. Maybe what they need to do is take a look at what the college kids throw down. Yeah, it is getting harder to come up with fresh, new material, but that doesn't mean you can't try--you might actually succeed.

Heck--if you just throw some passion and energy behind the 'same ole dunks' they can still be awesome.
