Part of me wonders if Elvis Andrus has been watching those clips online of people hitting monster home runs and game winning hits when pitchers were trying to intentionally walk them. Maybe he thought he could do something like that--but there is no way he'd have enough power behind the swing by reaching out like that.
So--what the heck man?

I'm going to guess that he was supposed to swing in order to help the guy on first steal second; cause the catcher to delay by a half second maybe. So his intention was right on and the end result was exactly what the team wanted.
He just ended up looking pretty silly in the process.
