Have We Had Enough of Drake and Johnny Manziel?

When an event like the Final Four is being held in Texas--not just the Lone Star State but the House that Jerry Built (aka AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys)--you better believe the celebrities are going to turn out. You know--guys like the rapper Drake and former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.

And they were booed pretty hard.

According to a number of  folks on Twitter that were at the games when the guy in charge of the jumbo-tron got around to showing Manziel and Drake the reaction was not a very nice one.

Ouch. As popular as Drake is you wouldn't think it would happen to him; Manziel either--especially in his home state! Could it be that the fan base has had enough of the dynamic duo? Thanks to around the clock news and social media there every absolute move is well documented--and by every absolute move I mean every single move.

The fans want what they want, right? But just like the all-you-can-eat buffet at Golden Corral too much of a good thing will eventually make that good thing a bad thing.

So--has that happened here?

Absolutely not. From the sound of things the fans at AT&T Stadium were booing every celebrity that made it to the jumbotron. Jerry Jones--booed. Dwight Howard--booed. There was not a lot of love to be had from the fans. If you look at the four that did an argument could be made for booing each:

  • Jerry Jones: How long has it been since the Cowboys were any good?
  • Dwight Howard: Houston's glad they have him. I bet the Mavericks wish he hadn't snubbed them.
  • Johnny Manziel: Any Texas Longhorns fans in the crowd?
  • Drake: Any parent whose kids refuse to listen to anything but Drake might not be to inclined to cheer for him. As expensive as tickets were I doubt too many kids were present.

Not everyone was hating on Drake though.
