Yale Basketball Player to Take a Year Off to be a Whiffenpoof [VIDEO]

Brandon Sherrod is a member of the Yale basketball team that was recently faced with a decision--continue with his education and play basketball again next year or join the Whiffenpoofs. For him it wasn't as difficult a decision as you might think.

He opted to join the Whiffenpoofs--and no, it's not an additional house at Hogwart's.

The Whiffenpoofs are a world renown and very prestigious a cappella group that has been a part of the university dating back to 1909. Their schedule is so intense that it's members have to withdraw from class for the year while they travel the world performing.

So yeah--it's a pretty big honor and a pretty big deal.
