Chicago Bears Fans Caused the Atlanta Falcons to Use a Silent Count at Home

After a promising start to the season Atlanta appears to be a team on the verge of falling over the edge and in to irrelevancy. With ten games still left to play it may seem strange to write the team off already, but with the exodus that occurred in the Georgia Dome when the Bears took a two touchdown lead it appears that some fans already have.

So many fans left that a home game had the feel of an away game.

According to offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter the Bears fans were so loud that they were forced to go to a silent count in their own stadium:
“Believe it or not for a home game, we had to go to a silent count because there was enough noise in the dome,” Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said. “Noise always echoes both for us and against us. That’s only the second time since I’ve been here that we had to go to a silent count at home.”
Matt Ryan could not recall ever having to go to a silent count at home before, but he did admit that the team had to waste a timeout late in the game because players could not hear the calls he was making at the line.

This is not the first time this season we have heard of a home team having to go to a silent count. When the Houston Texans traveled to Dallas a couple of weeks ago the Cowboys had to do so as well.

However, with Houston and Dallas only being a few hours apart and Chicago and Atlanta around 11 props have to be given to the Bears fans for making it happen.
