Did Cam Newton Give Away Fozzy Whitaker's First Career Touchdown Ball?

It has not been an easy journey for Carolina Panthers running back Fozzy Whitaker. The former Texas Longhorn went undrafted when he left college in 2012, but made the Arizona Cardinals practice squad that season only to be cut in March 2013. San Diego picked him shortly after, but was dropped a few weeks in to the 2013 season. Cleveland picked him, gave a few carries during the season, but cut him a couple months after the season ended.

So when he was picked up the Carolina Panthers he was probably just happy to be on the roster.

So imagine how happy he was to actually score his first career touchdown during the Panthers game with the Bengals Sunday!

Since he's working on his fourth team in three seasons you would think the ball would be pretty important to him, right? Most guys like to keep a pretty big memento like that, but he didn't end up doing so.

Cam Newton gave it away.

Wow. That kind of sucks. It's great for the kid and all, but you only have one first touchdown.

So--was Fozzy mad? Not all.

Even though it would mean a lot to him Fozzy knows it means even more to the kid Newton gave it to.

Well done Fozzy. Well done indeed.
