Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins Make Poor Effort to Recover Game Ending Fumble? [UPDATE]

The Houston Texans nearly overcame one of the most horrific first quarter performances fans in Houston have ever seen to win a tough one Thursday night over the Indianapolis Colts. In the end they did themselves in though when Ryan Fitzpatrick fumbled the ball and the Colts recovered it. What a way to end a game!

But did it have to end that way or could one of the Texans recovered the ball if he had tried a little harder?

It kind of looks like DeAndre Hopkins might have had a chance at the ball had he gone all out for it. Instead it looks like he pulls up when it became clear there would be some hitting involved.

If he had gone all out there is no guarantee that he would have gotten the ball or that the Texans would have scored, but it sure would have been fun to find out.

[UPDATE, 1:50 AM Oct-10]

Hopkins has admitted he probably could have gotten the fumble if he had dove for it.
