Having never been on the sideline of an NFL game it is hard to truly judge what it is like to make the kinds of decisions the coaches and players have to make. In the heat of the moment there is no telling what could be going on in their heads, and with the game on the line you never know what you may be willing to do to try and give your team an edge.
That being said sometimes those decisions from the outside looking in are some of the funniest darn things on Earth.

Like the one the Chargers made Sunday against the Raiders when they decided to go for a fake punt on 4th and 30 from right around midfield with the game tied. You go for it when it's not hard to do; you know--with just a couple yards to go not 30!
Brilliant, right?
The game is tied. Yes, you are better than the Raiders and should have been beating them silly, but for some reason you were not Chargers. Why make it easier for them to score?
And they did!

In the end the Chargers won so fans and coaches can laugh at the fake punt attempt, but had they lost....
Lets not go there.
