But if you believe this guy Johnny Manziel and his entourage kicked the crap out of him Friday night.

He never got close.
A member of the entourage stepped in and hit him in the face before he could touch 'Johnny.' According to him he was then beaten pretty bad by several members of the group.
It gets better--the man claims his brother tackled Manziel and slammed him in to a wall (via CleveScene):
"I got a bruised hip and a bruised elbow, and somebody hit me in the back of the head, too. My brother saw what was going on and he ran he tackled Johnny Manziel – I guess he got the sack and the fumble. He tackled him, yeah, I’m talking about he speared him all the way to the back wall. I was cornered; I was by myself and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me. (My brother) just came to help me out, and I guess Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him. It should be all on video."The official word from the Browns is that they are looking in to the incident, but even if they do the worst Johnny should get is a reprimand for not being more careful. There are always going to be idiots that think they have a right to walk up and interrupt the life of professional athletes; as if watching him on television makes them friends.
It may not always be easy, but you have to figure out how to deal with the idiots in an appropriate manner as well as the good fans.
Manziel is going to be blasted for this, but for all we know he did nothing wrong. All we have right now is this person's story. He could have been drunk and belligerent when he approached Manziel so his friends jumped to defend him.
Even if he wasn't drunk who walks up to a complete stranger and goes in for a hug?

[UPDATED, 11/24 @18:53]
Via Adam Schefter:
Johnny Manziel statement from agent Erik Butkhardt: "Johnny and his roommate had been out to dinner earlier in the evening with Johnny’s mother, who is staying with him this week. There was no entourage. Johnny and his roommate were trying to get on the apartment elevator at his home when they were accosted by a very aggressive man and his associates. It was an unfortunate situation and he immediately let Ray Farmer and the team know what happened.”As it turns out the alleged victim in the brawl has a pretty shady history and has bad-mouthed Manziel in the past. It's starting to look more like someone was looking for a payday and Johnny didn't go for it.
