Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans Drawing Comparisons to Randy Moss

After a slow start to the season Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has come on strong the last few weeks showing fans why the team took him with the No. 7 pick in the last draft. Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins was by far his best game to date--seven receptions for 209 yards and two touchdowns.

It was the kind of performance that not only earned him NFC offensive player of the week honors, but comparisons to one of the greatest receivers of all time--Randy Moss.

Evans became the youngest player to ever catch 200+ yards, the first to do since 2003, and only the fifth rookie to do so in the Super Bowl Era. With 100+ yards in his previous two games he became the first rookie with 100+ yards and a touchdown in three consecutive games since Randy Moss did it back in 1998.

Should he be able to keep up this kind of production there is no doubt that he will win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. With him and Vincent Jackson catches passes if the Bucs can find some consistency at quarterback they may become a force to be reckoned with sooner rather than later.
