Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger Sets Record for Most Passing Yards by a Rookie in a MNF Game

Some great players have come out of the sixth round of the draft, but typically expectations are not sky high. However, the Titans are hoping for great things out of their sixth round pick, quarterback Zach Mettenberger. So far this season they haven't seen great things; okay sometimes but not great.

However, during Monday night's game against Pittsburgh they started to catch glimpses of greatness out of the former LSU star.

After a disastrous start to the game he settled down and led the team on two scoring drives. After a turnover late in the first half he was able to give the Titans the lead with a beautiful 80-yard touchdown pass to Nate Washington.

The Steelers defense clamped down on the Titans offense in the second half, but Mettenberger was able to lead the team on a nice 77-yard touchdown drive. In the process he set a new best for rookie quarterbacks on Monday Night Football:


He finished the game with 263 yards.
