When Melvin Gordon broke LaDanian Tomlinson's single game rushing record last week against Nebraska no one probably thought that the record would only stand for a week, but that is exactly what happened. With injury issues at quarterback the Oklahoma Sooner leaned on freshman running back Samaje Perine against Kansas to shoulder the load.
He was more than happy to respond.

Perine ran wild on a poor Kansas Jayhawks team going for 427 yards and five touchdowns (66, 49, 34, 33, and 27 yard runs) on 34 carries breaking Melvin Gordon's week old record as well as the Oklahoma one set by Greg Pruitt in 1971 (294 yards) and the Big 12 record set by Iowa State's Troy Davis in 1996 (378 yards).
