The rules are intended to keep players safe and the game fair, but the application of the rules on this play is ridiculous. While fighting off his blocker, Boise State DT Justin Taimatuia loses his helmet. Instead of stopping to put it back on he did what any football player would do--he continued his rush and sacked the quarterback.

He ended up getting flagged for not having his helmet on. Ridiculous.
