Ryan Fitzpatrick Needs Surgery, Can't Change Diapers Because Of The Pain, But Still Starting Sunday [VIDEO]

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is a big reason why the New York Jets are actually playoff contenders this season. His play isn't great, but it is good enough. It became apparent what the team would be like without him when he was lost to an injury (ligament damage to thumb in non-throwing hand) Sunday against the Raiders.

Geno Smith came in and played as well as could be expected, but was injured himself. So it left fans with a pretty big question--who was going to play quarterback? As it turns out Fitzpatrick will be.

Wait a minute--doesn't he need surgery? Yes he does. Luckily the injury is on his non-throwing hand so he should be able to pass.

It hurts though, right? Yes, but again, its on his non-throwing. It will just suck whenever he takes a snap, hands the ball off, or runs play action. That is, if it hurts.

Which it does:

This can't end well for he Jets. Maybe he'll be able to play through the pain, but they better be ready for a few more fumbles against Jacksonville Sunday.
