When you are a defensive lineman you love obvious pass plays. When all you have to do is wreck anything that stands between you and the quarterback your job is much simpler. There is no need to be concerned about some shifty running back cutting back in the hole you left open. All you have to do is go all out to get the quarterback.
When guys get close they don't care what they have to do to take him down. They will grab anything they can to get a hold of him--even his head. Charles Walker thought about taking off the head of the Iowa State quarterback, but let him keep it.
