Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota Broke Vince Young's Rookie Passing Record Sunday

Back in 2006 it appeared as if the Tennessee Titans had found the quarterback of the future in former Texas Longhorns QB Vince Young. He certainly looked good as a rookie when he set a franchise rookie passing yards record with 2,199 yards that season. He ended up flaming out, and becoming a cautionary tale of what not to do if you wanted  career in the NFL.

As of Sunday the record no longer belongs to Young. Marcus Mariota surpassed it in his 11th game.

With 218 yards passing on the day against the Raiders Mariota has 2,244 passing yards this season. The final record stands to be a lot higher with five games left to play. To be fair to Young, he actually set the mark having completed two fewer passes than Mariota has.

He had 184 while Mariota has 186 so far.
