So with Freeman coming back fantasy football owners have to be pretty happy. However, after the way Tevin Coleman ran the ball last week against the Vikings (18 carries, 110 yards) should they worry about Freeman losing reps to Coleman?
Coleman was expected to be the man this season in the backfield for the Falcons, but after getting injured Freeman did more than enough to take over the role. Then he had to go and get hurt. Coleman didn't do anything to earn the job back against Indianapolis (48 yards, 17 carries), but had a solid day against the Vikings.
So--what does that mean for this week?
The Falcons do not have a shot at winning the division, but they are right in the thick of the hunt for a wild card spot. Going forward fans and fantasy owners can expect them to do whatever it takes to win games. If that means leaning on freeman, they will. if it means leaning on Coleman they will do that.
So--what about for fantasy purposes?
It would not be shocking to see the Falcons lean more on Freeman than Coleman to start the game Sunday, but to give both carries. However, Coleman has had security issues this season (three lost fumbles). Should he put the ball on the ground that will probably be his last play unless Freeman gets hurt again.
