Take the latest nugget to come out of NYC--safety Brett Lockett is in the latest ad campaign for PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. That in itself is no big deal, but the thing that is--well, the man is naked.
Except for a football that he holds over his junk.
Maybe he was inspired by his head coach being willing to show some skin while on the vacation even though it showed the tat of his wife wearing nothing but a Mark Sanchez jersey while Tebowing (sort of). Who knows...
That probably doesn't have a thing to do with it. The man probably just believes in the cause (admirable; nothing wrong there). In order to bring attention to the cause PETA likes to shock people though. How better to do that than with a naked professional athlete?
Now ladies (if I do have any ladies reading; or gay or bi-curious guys) I have no intention of posting the pic or the NSFW video the man did, but in all fairness to you--and since I do post a lot of skimpy chick pics on the site here are links to the pic and video.
That is just the most recent thing to come out of the Big Apple. There have been so many lately--and all so funny--that I haven't been able to keep up with them. For those that have also had trouble following the circus that is the Jets here si arun down of what's gone on since the season ended:
- The team caused a stink with the Professional Football Writers of America when it did not have its end of season conference within a week after the end of the season like they are supposed to.
- Exactly why is not known, but it couldn't have helped that the head coach had taken off for the Bahamas not too long after the final game.
- While there he was photographed with a tat of what appears to be his wife wearing just a Mark Sanchez jersey in a seductive pose (or possibly Tebowing).
Your body so its your business Rex, but come on man! You know what something like that is going to do to the media! Common sense dude! Use some! Lets continue...
- Players are still talking about Tim Tebow. This time it is defensive end Mike Devito saying that the team should have played Tebow. He has proven he can win, they were not, what did they have to lose.
This of course flew in the face of what Rex said when he commented on how he would have played Tebow if he thought Tebow could have helped them win. Since Mark Sanchez was the one he thought was best equipped to help the team win--and he sucked--that must mean his opinion on ole Timmy is pretty darn low .
Anyway...
- The GM search is a joke. The team has let it be known that one stipulation of taking the job is that Rex Ryan cannot be fired (at least not until the end of next season).
- Tom Heckert, who was recently fired by the Browns, cancelled his interview (word is because of the lack of cap space).
The Jets are supposed to finally have their end of season press conference tomorrow (Tuesday) so get ready for some more fun folks! Since the team waited so long the press has had plenty of time to think up some 'great' questions for Rex.
