Kentucky Wildcats Get Back to Basics and Win

There can't be anything more basic when it comes to sports then remembering what it is you are doing--playing a game. What are games supposed to be? Fun.

After some harsh comments following the embarrassing effort against Tennessee head coach John Calipari needed to do something more than just apologize to the players that he will have to finish the season with.

He needed to get them to remember that they too were top-notch recruits in their own right, but most importantly he needed them to loosen up and just have fun again (anyone that suffered through that Tennessee game knows they were not having fun).

So they played dodgeball.

To some degree it must have worked since the Wildcats were able to get back on the right side of the win column with a 74-70 win over Vanderbilt Wednesday night(see video).

The Commodores are not exactly lighting up the college basketball ranks (10-15; 4-9 in conference), but when your confidence has been shaken as bad as the Wildcats of late a win of any kind is a welcome sight.

When they take on the Missouri Tigers Saturday they will need all the mojo they can get.
