Michael Jordan Didn't Always Wear No. 23 Back in the Day

'His Airness' is getting  a whole lot of love from the blog-o-sphere these days with the big 5-0 on Sunday and righteously so. The man will forever be one of if not the greatest basketball player to ever grace the hard court with his presence.

Of course we will never know if he is the greatest; at least not until Michael J. Fox gets the DeLorean working again and can bring all the best players in history together when they were in their prime. Instead of Field of Dreams we'll have a Court of Cool?

Yeah, that one needs work before we can make it a movie. It would be one cool court though...but I digress...

MJ made the No. 23 the favorite of basketball players everywhere for years, but did you know that he didn't always wear it? Yes, yes, when he made his comeback he changed his number, but I'm talking about before that.

If you can believe every bit of footage you find on the internet apparently he once wore the No. 12!

The reason is actually pretty simple. Apparently his jersey was stolen from the locker room when the Bulls were in town to play Orlando. Why those dirty rats!
