Tyrann Mathieu Physically Has What it Takes to Play--But Does he Have the Head Game?

Tyrann Mathieu went from being a Heisman candidate to being out of football and school, but got his chance to prove he still has the physical attributes to play the game at the NFL Combine. As far as the physical tests are concerned--like the 40-yard dash--he did well:

Officially he was timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40, but if you asked me the man looked a lot faster than that. The man looked like he was still accelerating around the 30-yard mark!

He's been out of football for a year for doing something stupid. He continued to do stupid stuff even after losing the game he loves. However , in time he did get his act together, and now the man formerly known as the Honey Badger appears ready to take his game to the next level.

Of course the big question on him is not going to be whether he has the physical attributes necessary to to play the game (although it would not be the first time a LSU standout forgot how to workout, right JaMarcus Russell?). It's going to be whether he can stay out of trouble.

Teams will not want to invest the time and money into a player that they already have every reason to believe could not be there on game day because he went out the night before, got high, 'made it rain' inside some night club, and is passed out in some random jail cell in the middle of nowhere.

Not that the Honey Badger would do something that crazy, but it wouldn't be shocking for him to fail a drug test or two. Going forward teams will be doing everything they can to make sure that he has his head in the game before they use a draft pick on him.

Because whoever does, should he keep it together will most certainly have the steal of the draft!
