The Dallas Mavericks are in need of a leader (sorry Dirk; it just ain't happening this season man. Great game against the Lakers, but otherwise....eh). I don't know if Vince Carter really wants to step into that roll for a team that is not accustomed to being on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs.
However, if that is going to change and the Mavs are going to be playing once the 'second season' starts someone is going to need to.
I don't know the man well enough to say if he is a vocal leader or not, but I have seen enough of his play of late to know that there is not a harder working veteran in the NBA right now.
Just watch the play in the video. There was not anything pretty about it. There was nothing smooth. There was no real help from his teammates either really. It was all Vince working his behind off, determined to score that basket.
And when he did, he scored it well.
Nice job Vince. Nice job.
