With a new owner, head coach, and general manager his chance to do so may soon be coming to an end. Rumor has it that the Browns are looking to trade the former third round pick, but if they are not able to they will likely release him.
After a meteoric college career that saw him become the most successful college quarterback in NCAA history (at the time with 45) you would think that NFL greatness would be a sure thing.
At 26 there is still hope that with the right team he could still develop into a serviceable pro quarterback. There are plenty of teams that are in need of help at quarterback (i.e. Arizona, Jacksonville, Buffalo to name a few). Teams could do a lot worse with their back-up quarterback then McCoy.
The only problem may be finding someone to give him a shot. It is unlikely that someone will trade for a player they know will be available on the free agent market in a few days though.
Should he not get another chance he'll become another in a growing line of Longhorn quarterbacks that failed to make it in the NFL. Vince Young is scrambling to salvage his career. Chris Simms's career is known more for the hit that ruptured his spleen causing him to have to be taken to a local hspital during a game.
