One win was all they needed, and they could break out the Bics.
Now you can make it two.
The Mavericks were in a good position to get the upset. The Pacers had lost one of their key players, Danny Granger, for the season. Instead it seemed more like the Pacers were trying to prove that they would be just fine without Granger as they blew out the Mavs 103-78.
This was one of those tale of two halves kind of games. Both teams came out hard in the first half and played to a 41-41 tie. However, in the second half the Pacers found a way to turn it on scoring an incredible 62 points while the Mavs had trouble buying shot.
"We heard something about them wanting to shave or doing something like that," Hibbert said. "We wanted to shut that (stuff) down to begin with. They wanted to get to .500, so they gave us their best effort in the first half. Whatever gimmick they need to rally themselves, that's fine."Had the Mavs won it would have been the first time since December 12 that they would have had a .500 record. Now they will have to find a way to regroup and beat Chicago at home before going on the road to play Los Angeles (Tuesday) and Denver (Thursday).
