Kyrie Irving Possibly Out for the Season

The rest of the season may get a little tougher for the Cleveland Cavaliers now with Kyrie Irving due to miss the next three to four weeks with a sprained shoulder. During Sunday's loss to the Toronto Raptors Irving collided with Jonas Valanciunas.

Irving is a relatively little guy weighing in at about 180 pounds. Valanciunas tips the scales at about 230 or so.

Yeah. He lost.

Whether he returns this season will likely depend on how fast he heals. With the playoffs already out of reach for the Cavaliers the team could opt to sit him for the last few games if he takes longer to heal. Since he is the cornerstone of the franchise they will not want to risk him possibly re-injuring the shoulder in a meaningless game.

It sucks to even think this way let alone to actually say it, but the more they lose the better off they will be in the draft lottery. The team has done well with its draft picks of late so who knows--they could be one more lottery pick away from having a winning formula again...I'm just saying...
