Tiger Woods Lands One in a Palm Tree

Tiger Woods is looking more like the Tiger Woods of old this weekend at the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral. Going into the final day on Sunday he sits in first with a healthy four shot lead on Graeme McDowell.

However, not everything was all roses for Tiger like here on the 17th hole. It appeared as if he was still going to have a good lie when it was clear his ball was going to land off the fairway. The only problem is the darn thing never landed:

If Tiger really wanted to show off and impress people he could have shimmied up the tree and given ball a good whack. After all, he did delve in the water recently for a shot so why not a tree?

He did go on to bogey the whole, but managed to birdie the next making it a no-harm-no-foul situation.

As good as Tiger is and his recovery from this shot was, the shot of the tournament so far goes to Phil Mickelson. On the same hole he went way right with his tee shot, but then got a fortuitous piece of luck. His ball hit the car path and bounced....and bounced....and bounced some more...before finally stopping after travelling a good 450 feet!

He chipped his way off the cart path and onto the green where he putted for birdie.

Beat that Tiger!
