Crazy Colts Fan - Time for Darrius Heyward-Bey to Get to Work

If Indianapolis Colts fans wanted a little reassurance that signing Darrius Heyward Bey was a good move I think they have it. Why? Because the youngster is smart enough to realize he is in a rather good position and it sounds like he is not going to blow it.

Now I am not just talking about playing in Indy or with one of the up and coming quarterbacks in the NFL in Andrew Luck, but the fact that should he stick he will be the veteran that the offense is going to look to for leadership in a year or two when Reggie Wayne retires.

So all he has to do is stay on the team and then he'll be the man, right? Wrong! The results have to be there of course and he can't be a distraction on or off the field either. He needs to be the consummate professional.

And he gets the chance to learn how to do all that from one of the best in the game--Reggie Wayne!

  1. I'm afraid the only thing that will be consistent about Heyward-Bey will be his inconsistency.I never thought he had the hands to be a good receiver in the pros and have seen nothing in his career to disabuse me of that notion.I wish the Colts had gone elsewhere.

    1. There is potential there, the question is how much. he's never really had a good QB so I think it is hard to tell exactly what he has to offer in the NFL.

The good thing is that they didn't have to pay him too much and its only a one year contract so if stinks the team is not on the hook long term or anything.

I'm hopeful that T.Y. Hilton can develop into that No. 2 guy.
