Jerry Jones Gets His Game

There is nothing more than Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants than to see a championship game in Cowboys Stadium. It looks like he will finally have it to, and not because he paid Tony Romo a boat load of cash or made the most brilliant draft day trade in the history of the NFL or anything. In fact, it has nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys at all.

It's the new college championship.

A pic of the stadium would have been appropriate, but wouldn't you rather see her?

On Wednesday the speculation ended as the new college football playoff system got a name (College Football Playoffs) and named the site for the first championship game under the new system, Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Pretty much from the beginning Cowboys Stadium was believed to be a front runner for the big game. Tampa Bay was rumored to be a hot competitor down the stretch, but in the end Jerry's World won out.
“The Stadium was the determiner,” said Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff. “It’s still The Stadium with a capital T.”

Here's hoping The Stadium has its seating issues figured out before game day this time. Should there be another fiaso like there was back when the Cowboys hosted the Super Bowl there ole' Jerry might have a hard time getting a big game--any big game--to come back.

The game will be played on January 12, 2015 (yes, one more season with the BCS).
