Kevin Ware's story is going to be front and center in college basketball for what's left of this season and likely at the beginning of the next as well. While he will not be playing when his Louisville Cardinals tip-off against the upstart Wichita State Shockers his face will definitely be everywhere.
Literally. Everywhere.
Big faces--simply large cardboard cut outs of someone's face--have become quite popular at games. Saturday night there will be a thousand of them staring the Shockers in the face.
How? Because New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire has bought 1,000 of them.
Unlike Adidas and the shirts (which have now been pulled) these were cleared by the NCAA ahead of time to make sure that there would be no compliance issues. Bryan Price, the founder of Build-a-Head, said he could do the 1000 heads for $2500 which Amar'e foundation was happy to donate.
