It's a faux pas that many teams have made in the past, but for some odd reason it keeps happening time and time again. Prior to Game Four today, the fans arriving at the Staples Center-- in hopes of seeing their team avoid a sweep--were issued white towels.
Yes, they matched the white home uniforms the Lakers were going to be wearing, but white towels?
Can anyone say time to 'throw in the towel' or 'wave the white flag?'
Maybe the Lakers Nation will see it more as thousands of 'rally towels' waving in hopes of inspiring the team to victory.
However, minus Kobe Bryant and in light of the 31-point whipping the San Antonio Spurs put on the the Lakers in Game Three the rest of the world might see it differently.
Let's just hope we don't see Mike D'Antoni grab one by accident late in the game to wipe sweat of his forehead or something. The meme creators of the world will go nut with that!
