San Antonio Spurs Have Little Trouble with the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1

Like another Texas-based professional sports team the proverbial 'window' is closing on the San Antonio Spurs and they know it. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are not exactly spring chickens anymore, and know that there chance to win it all has to come now and not later.

On Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers taking the next step towards getting back to the Finals was not that hard. In fact,. it was so easy that Tim Duncan let himself relax a little--which angered Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni a little:

From Gamedayr
In all seriousness, the Lakers did look a it on the over-matched side in Game 1 of what they know is going to be a tough series for them. Sunday's 91-79 win for the Spurs did not even feature their  best game, but since the Lakers turned in a relative stinker themselves it didn't matter.

The win actually out the Spurs in territory that no other team occupies. With the win, the career record between the two is even at 75-75. The Spurs now have no career losing records with any team in the NBA.

Should the winning continue, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker stand the chance to make some history as well. With four more wins the duo will have won 597 games; the third most of any tandem and one better than Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher.

Game 2 will be Wednesday night in San Antonio at 9:30 PM ET.
