Tim Tebow has a Fan in Roger Goodell (yippee!)

Tim Tebow is loved by fans far and wide, just not too many coaches or team executives. Since getting cut from the New York Jets the young QB has not received even a nibble from another team. In fact, the lack of interest coupled with teams publicly stating a lack of interest in him has led many to say he's been blackballed by the NFL.

What Tebow needs is a friend--and it looks like he has at least one in NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

When asked recently what he thought of having Tim Tebow in the NFL he responded with the following:
Well, he’s a great young man...But as a young man, he’s just a super young guy, and I sure hope he’s part of the NFL going forward. He’s just a terrific young man and represents all of the values that I think all of our players do.
You can't argue with that. Character wise there are few if any better in the NFL than Tim Tebow. However, Goodell makes it interesting when he tries to tie in all the players in the NFL and say that they are comparable.
I’m very proud of our players. I think, as a group, they’re extraordinary young men, and I love to see the things they’re doing in the community. They’re obviously great athletes on the field, but these are great young men, and Tim’s a good example of that.
He saves himself when the refers to 'as a group' rather than 'all.' I'm not so sure that Titus Young, any of the wife/girlfriend beaters, or any of the other (many) convicts, in the NFL can realistically be grouped in with Tim Tebow when you're talking about character.
