Donte Stallworth to Get Another Shot With the Redskins

Free agent wide receiver Donte Stallworth must have really taken the story of the little engine that could to heart growing up. He lost a year due to a DUI Manslaughter charge. After appearing like he might be out of the league for good last season he was brought into New England--made one catch, a beautiful 63-yard touchdown and then got hurt.

The man tried to be romantic with his girl and went on a hot air balloon ride that ended with him in the hospital after it hit some power lines. There was that run in with the CIA that was kinda spooky (and all he did was take a picture of the building).

How in the world do you keep coming back when so many things that would stop a normal person say, well--stop? Easy, you have to do like the little engine that could and keep pushing on.

That may work for Stallworth once again if all goes well with his tryout in next week's minicamp with the Washington Redskins.

He's a familiar face in Washington having played there in 2011 making just 22 catches for 309 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That was obviously not enough to bring him back or entice anyone else to pick him until the Patriots wide receiver corp was decimated by injuries during the season.

Should he make it on the roster he could prove to be a solid weapon for Robert Griffin III next season. While he has been streaky his entire career he has always been a deep threat that defenses can't ignore.

So even if they don't throw it his way too often since teams will have to account for him the running lanes might open just a little bit more for RG3.
