Baltimore Orioles Slugger Chris Davis Shows Texas Rangers What They Are Missing

When the Texas Rangers drafted Chris Davis out of Navarro Junior College in 2006 they thought they had a pretty good ball player on their hands. After he made his debut in 2008 he proved it by hitting a home run in each of his first two games--a first for a Texas Ranger.

However, while his power was obvious there was something else that overshadowed it--his propensity for striking out. It was bad enough in 2009 that he set a record for the fewest at-bats needed to strikeout 100 times (218).

While the raw talent was there the Rangers ended up trading him and his strikeouts to the Baltimore Orioles in 2011. Fast forward to the 2013 season and he's leading the league in home runs.

Sure would be nice to have that guy, right?

When he hit No. 34 against the Rangers Thursday night in the bottom of the second inning you know that there were just a few Rangers fans that were thinking, "Dang--sure wish we still had that guy."

Especially since the guy they traded for (Koji Uehara) is now playing for the Boston Red Sox!
