B-Ball On The Brain! - Minnesota Lynx Appear to be in Championship Form Once Again

In its short history the WNBA has been witness to one dynasty--the Houston Comets. From the inaugural season in 1997 through 2000 the Comets could not be stopped winning the first four Championships in league history.

The New York Liberty tried to become one. From 1997-2002 they made it to the Finals four times, but were unable to come away with a single title. Los Angeles gave it a good shot with three trips to the Finals from 2001-03, but only won two ('01 and '02). The Detroit Shock gave it a shot as well from 2003-08 with four trips to the Finals coming away with three trophies ('03, '06, and '08).

But no one has quite been able to replicate the kind of command over the league that the Comets had. However, the Minnesota Lynx look like they could become that team.

With a 85-63 win over the San Antonio Silver Stars Saturday night the Lynx have won eight in a row and nine of their last 10. They are also riding a 17-game home winning streak, the fourth longest in league history.

All without playing their best basketball....
