Auburn Lacrosse Player Steals Truck to See What Grand Theft Auto Would Be Like

If you ever needed proof that video games are bad for kids and give them bad ideas the story of a Auburn lacrosse should convince you they are.

Apparently Zachary Burgess, a freshman lacrosse for the Tigers, loves Grand Theft Auto. He loves it so much  that early Saturday morning--at roughly 2:30 AM after the bars closed-- young Zach got the urge to play. However, since he was leaving the bars and not at home he did not have a game console on hand.

So he decided to play a real-life version.

He saw a truck sitting there idling--and jumped into the driver's seat and drove away. As if  the deed itself was not dumb enough, he took off with the truck owner's girlfriend in the passenger seat!

I'm not sure how he was finally caught--if the girlfriend talked him into pulling over for the cops or if he did so on his own--but when he was arrested he told the police officers this:
"[he] wanted to see what it was really like to play the video game Grand Theft Auto.”
Yes he did.
