If I was a Cavs fan or owner of the team I'd still be mad even though its been a few years. However, when you let animosity cloud your judgement--like the Cavs did in naming Tyrone Corbin the best No. 23 in team history--it cheapens the value of anything the team does.
This is not meant to be a knock against Corbin., but lets take a look at the man the team is calling a better Cav than LeBron James:
- over the course of his 15-year career he averaged 9.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 26 minutes
- played for nine teams
- started only four games for the Cavs
- played in parts of 86 total games in a Cleveland uniform over two stays with the team
- the first time around (32 games) he averaged 4 points and 3 rebounds over 13.7 minutes
- the second time around (54 games; 4 starts) he averaged 7.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 21.3 minutes
And this is the best No. 23 that has ever been in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform? Please! He was barely in a Cleveland uniform!
Maybe its an intentional slap to LeBron. Maybe they wanted to have anyone other than LeBron in the slot just to not have him there. Maybe whoever did the list burned his LBJ jersey and can't see beyond his own hatred to make a rational, believable decision.

Whatever the reason--this was a dumb decision Cleveland.
