Mad Props to Fordham for Uniforms Honoring 9/11 First Responders

There are some things in college football that go unnoticed by the general public that they should be aware of. I'm talking about the kind of things that make people proud to be a fan of the game, and in some cases proud to be an American.

However, since some of these 'things' are done by small market teams that rarely--if ever--get broadcast as part of regional coverage they go unnoticed; things like the Liberty Cup that Fordham and Columbia have been playing ever since 9/11

The game is played to honor those that died that fateful day. This season Fordham is taking it a step further with these "Stars and Stripes" inspired uniforms. Instead of names the team will have NYPD, FDNY, and PAPD on the back.

Money made from the game goes to scholarship funds both schools have created to honor the victims.

There really isn't much more that can be said about this game and both team. Well done.

Way to show the best that college football has to offer. Too often we see the worst. It is refreshing to see people using the game to honor and benefit others rather than get their own selfish needs and desires met.
