When the game is on the line and there has been a lot of back and forth all night long it is understandable if there is a little trash talk. Certain actions leading up to that point could build upon each other until finally someone pops and just lets loose.
However, when the game has just started, and its only the first inning? Yeah, that's just stupid.
In the first inning of the Brewers/Braves game Wednesday night Carlos Gomez hit a home run to give Milwaukee a nice 1-0 lead. From the video you can tell that he is rather proud of his dinger as he stops to watch it fly.
As he trots around the bases you can see him telling everyone but the outfielders how good his home run and how bad the Braves are. By time he got back to home plate the Braves were ready to go.
I'll be curious to hear if he offers an explanation for his behavior. It was easily among the dumbest things I've ever seen on a baseball diamond.
Your team is going to finish well below .500; you've been out of playoff contention for a long time; and it is only the first inning!
I bet Carlos just didn't want to play tonight, but didn't want to ask to sit out. He should have faked an injury. At least that way people wouldn't think he's an idiot.
Hey Fat & Stupid Boy Writing - why couldn't McCann get his dumb ass out of the way of home plate?
ReplyDeleteShoot, after the way he rounded the bases talking smack the whole way its surprising that a few more guys were not waiting there with him. Gomez was acting like an asshole and deserved to get punk'd.
